PS4 Firmware Decryption – 1.76 Payload by ZiL0G80

Over 6 month ago Developer idc released the scripts to decrypt the PS4 Firmware on a 1.76 Retail console.

PS4 Scener ZiL0G80 has build a Payload (ELF) for 1.76 users. The ELF decrypt the Firmware Update File to examine the content.
ppp222ppp used the Payload to decrypt Firmware 4.55.

– Copy PS4UPDATE.PUP on a Fat32 USB device and plug in usb0 (left port)
– Use the ELF Loader (Playground) to execute the Payload.
– After the decryption you will find .dec files on your usb device

ps4-pup_decrypt_retail_usb.elf (Exploit) + PS4UPDATE1.PUP.dec/PS4UPDATE2.PUP.dec (Firmware)

    The file content of the decrypted FW 4.55 has been unpacked by Tuxick. / -> PS4_DEV

    Edit: PS4 system_fs_image.bin extractor (Thanks to Vultra for the link)

    masterzorag’s ps4-pup_decrypt.bin works !

    We have to load the Dlclose Payload first and then the PUP Payload to decrypt the Firmware easier than like the efl method.

    -> PS4_DEV

    Also you can find the neccessary Tools to unpack the FW 😎

    Big Thanks to Ginsor for the help !

    edit: my first decrypted FW -> ★ Firmware_1.76_Decrypted.rar

    I have tried it with ps4_dev-dlclose_(Full_Debug_Menu)_Kernel_Patch.bin but should also work with the standard Dlclose (ps4_dev-dlclose_Kernel_Patch1.bin).

    Edit: It work on exFAT and FAT32 USB devices.
